The holidays can be a great time of year with a lot of excitement! But for those of us who have children with special needs, it can be challenging to find events that are sensory friendly. Here is an update on some of the events on Oahu this season.
Santa! There are two malls who are providing a sensory friendly Santa this year. Both events are going to be held on December 8th.
Ala Moana Center is teaming up with Autism Speaks to host visits with Santa from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. They will be set up at the Mauka Wing fronting Target.
At Pearlridge, Santa can be visited from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Wai Makai Center Court.
On December 17th, there is going to be a sensory friendly Honolulu City Lights trolley ride from 7-10 pm. Tickets are $7.50 and you can purchase them from the Autism Society of Hawaii at eventbrite.com.
On December 7th, in Waikiki, Surfers Healing is putting on a surf event from 9 am to 3 pm at Kuhio Beach.
EFMP for Joint Base Hickam Pearl Harbor is doing a Hawaii Kai Festival of Lights Boat Parade on December 7th at 3 pm.
If you know of any other events that I missed, send me a message and I will add to the list! Happy Holidays
